Welcome to our office
First visits, especially for children, need to be very gentle and comfortable. Dr. Kalb and our expert-level staff do everything we can to make sure that both child and parent are comfortable and relaxed. You’ll have an opportunity to meet our professional team of dental experts and even be given an introductory gift as a thank you for joining our dental family.
Before anything begins though, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss your concerns, considerations, and what you think the needs of your child are as this will help allow our doctors and expert staff to start making informed plans about what kinds of options are best for your child. After that, you and your child are both welcomed to come into the treatment room where we can explain how the different tools work and provide your children with their own special toothbrush along with some tips on how to keep their teeth clean and happy.
By walking both you and your child through the steps of preventive oral health, cleaning, and explaining any of the tools and findings after your child’s examination, both you and your little one will have a good idea of where your child stands in terms of their oral health, what kind of options are available if needed, and help give both you and your child a better insight into the role of dental medicine in helping keep your child happy and healthy.
It is important to make sure that all first visit forms are completed prior to your arrival at your appointment time as this allows us to help maintain our schedule with our other clients. Assuming that the paperwork is filled out in time, then the examination usually lasts around 30 minutes and includes oral instruction time with and teaching your child how to care for their own teeth.
Usually part of this examination time will also include a cleaning and an examination to outline any potential existing problems and offer relevant treatments. Your child’s comfort and well-being is our highest priority and is one of the reasons why we encourage family members to stay with children, especially for that first visit.
